Evolution of C-IQ: The Fundamentals
A lot has happened since our certification programs, especially for those of us who were part of the 2016 and 2017/18 cohorts!
Each year, we will be offering select 90-minute to 2-hour programs that will help hone your Conversational Intelligence 'muscle', as well as keep you abreast of new concepts and ways to use C-IQ in your life and in your work with others.
We are currently offering sessions on 2 topics: one that will update you on the science and research that supports Conversational Intelligence; the other that focuses on specific C-IQ concepts and their current relevance and use.
NOTE: Because science is an important underpinning for Conversational Intelligence, the Neuroscience & Research Update is an important pre-requisite before attending The Evolution of C-IQ session.
No Neuroscience Update Sessions available.
Final Evolution of C-IQ Session is Wednesday, March 1 at 10AM US Eastern Time!

Neuroscience & Research Update
(no dates currently available)
In this 2-hour session we’ll share the science and research concepts and theories that we consider pivotal in Conversational Intelligence®. This includes updates to concepts you may already be familiar with, as well as more recent findings. You’ll also have time for small group discussions.
Topics that we’ll cover that connect to C-IQ, and influence or impact you and the work you do, include:
- A re-visit of The Wisdom of the 6 Brains and our internal circuitry, and how it’s framed within the C-IQ construct.
- Steven Porges’ Polyvagal Theory (Judith would have been excited about his work!)
- Research and theories that support the impact that C-IQ can have on important current human and business issues including trust, diversity and inclusion, psychological safety, and bias.
- The scientists and researchers whose work we follow.
This session is required prior to attending other C-IQ professional development sessions.

Evolution of C-IQ: The Fundamentals
(new dates, in blue, below)
In this 2-hour session, we’ll focus on how the foundational concepts of C-IQ continue to be relevant, and have broadened, adapted, and evolved in support of the changing client, business, and societal demands.
The session includes discussion on:
- The Conversational Intelligence Competencies and how they’re defined
- The 5 Conversational Essentials and their continued prominence
- Where Conversational Agility stands as an Essential
- The Levels of Conversation
- How embodiment in Conversational Intelligence is built.
…and much more. You’ll also have opportunity for small group discussion in support of your own ongoing embodiment!
We will be referencing neuroscience and research concepts during this session, but will not be explaining them in detail. Please plan to attend the Neuroscience & Research Update session prior to attending this program.
